“The question of vaccination is concerned, in particular, the owner’s risk for their animals, but this control is assigned to organizations and clubs that hold competitions, so vaccinations’ scheme of sport horses are stuck to.

In October 13, 2011 under the aegis of the EFU was held the regular meeting of Veterinary Council consisting of:
Herun Vladimir, FEI veterinary delegate;
Anatoly Levitsky, Association of Veterinarians of Ukraine;
Dzhmil Leonid, a veterinarian of Kyiv Regional veterinary hospital;
Alexander Melnik, Ltd. "Simedika UA";
Andrey Petrov, head coach of national team of Ukraine in equestrian sport;
Prysiazhniuk Natalia, general secretary of the Federation of Equestrian Sport of Ukraine
The following issues were taken away on the agenda:
1. Recommendations on schedule vaccination of horses
2. Mechanisms for the introduction of vaccination in the Ukrainian equestrian sport
3. Preparation of appeal letter for the formation of the necessary documents in the veterinary department in order to support policy EFU in vaccination (Rinopnevnoniya (herpes virus)
4. Appeal letter to the Regional Veterinary Administration of Ukraine to help monitor the situation of Veterinary
Veterinary Council established the following recommendations for vaccination of horses:
1. Vaccination rinopnevmonyai should be conducted twice a year (with the obligatory mark in the sport horse passport)
2. The period of vaccination. Horses are admitted to the competition from the day of vaccination which passed at least 14 days and not more than 6 months.
3. Only vaccinated horses will be permitted to take part in the competition (the list of vaccines and vaccination procedures will be issued by the separate order of the Veterinary Council of the Federation of Equestrian Sports of Ukraine, with contacts for consultations)
4. Control after the execution of orders of the Veterinary Council of EFU regarding vaccination relies on the organizing committees and clubs, as well as veterinary services organizations that conduct and take sports.
